Bio
Daniel Wehrli (*1984) studied Industrial Design in the Master course at ECAL, Ecole cantonale d'art de Lausanne and at the FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Art, Aarau/Basel. Already during his studies he gained work experience in Kanazawa, Japan while collaborating with craftsmen. Immediately after graduating from Bachelors he started to work for the New York based Studio «New Readymade Projects». In 2015 he set up his studio «daniel wehrli Industrial Design», his focus lies on innovative product and furniture design and development. Wehrli has won several design awards like the japanese «Award for Excellence» from prefecture Ishikawa, an architectural competition and an honorable mention from «2012 Swiss Woodaward». His work has been featured in exhibitions at the 21st Century museum of contemporary art, Kanazawa, Depot Basel and ETH Zürich.

Furthermore Daniel Wehrli works as research associate at the HSLU, University of Applied Sciences and Art Luzern in the Competence Center Products & Textiles. Where he has responsibilities in projects ranging from future textile architecture, smart textiles and medical design.
